Types of Whiskey - Round Three

Friends, Romans, Whiskey Lovers. After drinking in round two of our whiskey lesson, we pass the third and final round of American whiskey. Now it may seem that there is a patriotic trick from me to devote an entire article to American Whiskey - particularly when whiskey from other countries shared pages with each other - but I assure you that it is only because of the vastness of the American Whiskey contains. Hey, if you do not believe me, you bring it with Jim and Jack.

American Whiskey comes in both straight and mixed forms. Both types possess individual rules, and, perhaps most importantly, unique tastes.

Tennessee Whiskey: A Gemini, this whiskey comes from its namesake and enjoys long walks on the beach and is made from corn. Tennessee Bourbon Whiskey is similar in composition must be at least one hundred fifty must be based on corn. It must then be aged in new oak barrels, usually for a minimum of four years.

TheMain difference between bourbon and Tennessee whiskey is that such a filtering method is selected as the Lincoln County Process. While this process is filtered through maple charcoal before aging whiskey. Ultimately, a taste of whiskey in Tennessee, which is heavily on the bourbon. Today, Jack Daniels and George Dickel are the two of Tennessee whiskey.

Bourbon: Typically known as a drink Kentucky bourbon must consist of at least 51Percentage of corn, but usually contains near 70 percent. The remaining ingredients are wheat, little or malt rye. Many Bourbons are aged for four years, but by law must be kept for at least two years in order to be as "straight".

Currently, the vast majority of Bourbon in Kentucky. But you can do anywhere, it is illegal to distill spirits. Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Missouri and Virginia all serve as the states in which once produced bourbon. The latter, in Virginia, and produced a few occasionally.

Corn Whiskey: The corniest whiskey around, corn whiskey is at least 80 percent of corn (not together, that does not contribute to the necessary food pyramid servings of vegetables count). The Dick Clark of whiskey, Corn Whiskey is not aging. If it's old, it's about aging, usually about six months.

The aging, or lack there of is the main difference between Bourbon and Corn Whiskey. Year old Bourbon must becharred, new barrels whereas Corn Whiskey - if you are older - are placed in drums should be used or not calcined oak barrels.

Moonshine: It 'hard to think of Prohibition without thinking, think Moonshine. Slang for alcohol distilled at home, Moonshine, probably his name from being delivered and distributed in the dark, when the law was not to be so vigilant. Prohibited during periods when the alcohol was Moonshine was particularly popular in homes and smugglingand businesses.

Generally regarded as a very strong mind, Moonshine is made when the sugars are fermented by yeast and ethanol is produced. The alcohol is then separated by distillation. Since the process was initially illegal, Moonshine is generally absent from, and sometimes contained toxins and purity. Currently, it is still produced, especially in Virginia.

So there you have it. Go out and order Bourbon or a Jim Beam (try to stay away fromChiaro di Luna) and their own whiskey. Furthermore, if our roads: in this case, buy a round for me and make my own whiskey.
